That said, I'm just excited it doesn't leak during rain, stays standing with wind, is spacious, and has a porch. It's not been hot enough to truly test condensation, yet, though, in my opinion. There was some condensation on the first morning I checked on it, but it wasn't too bad. It's been left up in some moderate to high winds, as well, and stayed standing. It is very spacious and the vestibule porch is amazing! It has been rain tested in both light rain, and a moderate storm, and I have not noticed any leaking whatsoever. Reviewed in the United States on 7 July 2022 Was hoping for better protection from a more expensive tent.Īwesome design but more weather proofing needed Overall, great product but I plan on purchasing more water proofing for the base and skirting of the inner tent. Fortunately, I had placed our tarp in the inside of our tent which saved us (1adult and 2 kids) from being wet). Had its first storm the other day and the bottom allowed damp to creep in from underneath (mind, on this particular overnight, there was no ground cloth/footprint). Purchased scotch guard water proofing spray and did the rain fly. Noticed condensation coming through the rain fly with potential to drip inside the only-net inner tent. I think it would be tight quarters for 4 adults if they want elbow room. Very comfortable for an adult and kids who like to snuggle, without duffles. Our German shepherd likes it as his lookout point. Great for sitting just outside sipping coffee while little ones are still sleeping. I really enjoy the vestibule design for a larger tent. Reviewed in the United States on 24 August 2022 Overall, I strongly recommend this tent for your car camping trips. Overall, I am happy with how the material is holding up. I'm sure I can replace them, but I have not tried yet. The metal grommet for the fly pole also fell off after a few uses. The no-see-um mesh is also starting to fray in a few areas. There is small tear in the door caused by my coonhound and one in the fly. This tent has experienced minimal wear and tear. Wear & Tear: I use a footprint under the tent and a tarp inside the tent to protect the floor. We use tent ceiling fans to circulate the air. In the summer, the temperature in the tent gets pretty high when the rain fly is up. My camping season with the tent is April through the beginning of November, with temperatures ranging from 35 - 95 degrees F. but have also traveled through New England U.S. I use this tent predominantly in the Midwest U.S. It also protects from the wind when the rainfly is not used (which surprised us). The guyline storage pockets are a bonus! The no-see-um mesh prevents condensation from building up in the tent. Make sure you stake all the guylines during storms. I use a tarp or footprint under the tent every time I camp. Each time, the inside of the tent stayed completely dry, and I never worried about it blowing away. Weather: This tent survived two thunderstorms with torrential downpours and two rain storms. I've also loaned it to a family with two adults and two children. So there is plenty of room for the four of us. We often bring our 50# coonhound mix and 70# bluetick coonhound as well. I use this tent to camp with two adults sleeping on two Bass Pro Eclipse Cots. The vestibule is great for storing our camping chairs, and offers a shaded place to sit and relax. It is also convenient to stand up inside the tent. Space: I love that you can walk into the vestibule and tent without bending over. It isn't easy to thread the fly pole through the fly sleeve because of the length of the pole. The rain fly is a challenge to put up with only one person the help of a buddy makes the process much smoother. Pitching the tent: The tent itself is easy to pitch for one person (I'm 5'4") because of the Kelty Quick Corners. I have taken the Kelty Rumpus 6 on 15 camping trips since I purchased it.
